Eatabit API
V20 API for the Eatabit thermal printing platform.
V20 is a customer-facing API that accepts structured order data directly. It supports multiple verticals (restaurants, florists, Shopify, etc.) with custom JSON Schemas per printer. Each printer is assigned a JobSchema that defines the expected shape of orderData.
Hardware Requirement
The V20 API requires V20 printer hardware and is not backwards compatible with legacy Eatabit printer models. Jobs created via V20 will only be delivered to printers running the V20 device firmware. To upgrade, contact support or order V20 hardware from the Eatabit AI Dashboard.
Authentication
All API requests use HTTP Basic authentication. Use your API Credential ID as the username and your raw Token as the password.
Authorization: Basic base64(<apiCredentialId>:<rawToken>)
API credentials are provisioned per account. You can create and manage them in the Eatabit AI Dashboard.

Content Type
V20 uses two content types depending on the endpoint:
| Endpoint | Request | Response |
|---|---|---|
POST /v20/jobs | application/json | application/json |
All other endpoints (GET /v20/account, GET/PATCH /v20/printers/{printerId}, GET /v20/jobs/{jobId}) | application/vnd.api+json (when a body is sent) | application/vnd.api+json |
POST /v20/jobs is plain JSON: { printerId, orderData } in, { jobId } out. Every other route follows the JSON:API envelope format — { data: { type, id, attributes, relationships }, included: [...] } on success, { errors: [...] } on failure.
Job Lifecycle
queued → processing → processed → downloaded → printed
→ expired
→ error
